Making disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world

SUNDAY MESSAGE November 8, 2020

Posted by on Nov 7, 2020

November 8th’s message is on-line only; “Keep Your Light Shining” by Pastor Kim Phillips is from Matthew 25: 1-13.

You can join us on Facebook at about 9:25 to prepare for worship by watching a music video. The recorded message will post at 9:30 AM. After the message, another music video will play for us to reflect on what we’ve heard.

OR, you may watch the message at 9:30 AM when it is released on YouTube.

We look forward to safely returning to in-person worship next week, November 15, Covid-19 protocols permitting.

Announcements

PACKING SCHEDULE FOR RUTH’S HARVEST—For each TUESDAY packing, we will meet at Sites’ Mini-Storage (47 Brent Road, Fairfield) at 6:30 PM on January 12, February 9, March 2 & May 4. We must limit ourselves to 6 persons in Ruth’s Harvest’s pantry. We may need to rotate our service. Thank you for your understanding. If you are available to help, please let Missy Miller know (kmmmmiller@embarqmail.com or 717.321.0169).

The Outreach Committee has much to share as we seek to support our neighbors this Fall. We will be using the money remaining from the summer family feeding program to purchase snacks for Hillcrest residents, Thanksgiving gift cards for the summer families and the remainder to compliment holiday food programs aligned with Fairfield’s Neighbors Helping Neighbors.

Back by popular demand, we are asking the Wesley congregation to:

1) Donate new socks to be distributed at Christmas;

2) Continue to support the monthly collection for the Blue Ridge Food Bank and,

3) Donate food for Ruth’s Harvest.

Another community opportunity to also give includes:

Fairfield Food Pantry is hosting a winter scarves, hats and gloves collection for the December 20 Food Pantry pick-up.  Donations can be dropped off inside the back door of the Fairfield Mennonite Church, 201 West Main St., Fairfield. The goal is 225 scarves—one for each person.
