Opening Prayer ( in unison)
God of Righteousness, Grant us your life-giving presence. Guide us in our time of worship, and remain with us as we step out into the world, that we may face injustice with courage and love. May we come to see that the end we seek is a society at peace with itself, a society that can live with its conscience. May the fruits of our lives be food for the hungry, clothing for the naked, shelter for the homeless, and your Word for the world. May we love as you love. Amen.

Prayers of the People

Forever (The Nails in Your Hands) By Richard Cimino

The nails in Your hands, The nails in Your feet
They tell me how much You love me
The thorns on Your brow, They tell me how
You bore so much shame to love me
And when the heavens pass away
And all Your scars they still remain
And forever they will say, How much You love me
Forever my love, Forever my heart
Forever my life is Yours
Forever my love, Forever my heart
Forever my life is Yours
The nails in Your hands, The nails in Your feet
They tell me how much You love me
The thorns on Your brow, They tell me how
You bore so much shame to love me
And when the heavens pass away
And all Your scars they still remain
And forever they will say, How much You love me
Forever my love
