Wesley Chapel UMC Fairfield

Making disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world

Steadfast will provide safe housing in a caring, supervised and home-like environment for unaccompanied homeless youth and for youth transitioning out of foster care.

Their purpose is to provide safety and stability for the growing number of youth encountering homelessness by providing safe housing. Using a holistic approach, we address the individual needs of each youth, provide character building activities, mentoring, educational and life-skills programs as well as counseling and connection to resources in our community. By increasing stability in their life we empower the youth to create their future story and reach their greatest potential as healthy, independent adults.

THE WISH LIST of in-kind gifts for Steadfast can be found here.

Bucket Change collected for Steadfast during Lent totaled $800.00, which will be presented to Steadfast’s leadership. Please contact Kelly Christiano if you have any questions.

Bucket Change offerings have been designated for:
April 24-May 22 – Waynesboro Pregnancy Center
May 29-June 26 – For the Love of a Veteran
July 3-August 28 – Summer Feeding Program

We will again gather funding and foods from April through August to be packed and delivered to food insecure families on June 25, July 23 and August 20 at 10 a.m. In 2021, God provided a total of 10,366 servings to 13 families! Due to an abundance of donations, 10 families also received gift cards at Christmas. Please see Missy (717.321.0169) with questions.

RUTH’S HARVEST – FAIRFIELD  From September thru April, we gather a monthly collection of individual serving foods such as fruits, vegetables, popcorn, non-refrigerated milk, cereal, pasta meals, pudding, Jell-O, oatmeal, mac & cheese, Ramen noodles, pop tarts, kid-friendly soups, 100% juices, etc.

We ask the Wesley Chapel congregation and our neighbors to continue their support of the monthly collection for the Blue Ridge Food Bank.

Our Outreach and Health Ministries teams joined together to make a $100.00 donation to the 2021 Fairfield Seniors’ Safe and Sane event.

At Easter 2022, we will send a $100.00 gift in support of the Pregnancy Ministry in Waynesboro.

Many thanks to Bonnie Braun for arranging to have Lynn James of the Adams County Extension Office come and present a Safe Food Handling class for us and neighboring congregations!
